Day 8- I AM a Friend

"Friendship is the only cement that will hold the world together." - Woodrow Wilson

Life isn’t meant to be lived alone. Very few people make it through life without the strength and support of true friends.

And let’s be clear—this isn’t about the 3,984 “friends” on social media.

It’s about the ones who call you before you call them.

The ones who check in—not because they need something, but because you matter.

A true friend is honest and loyal.

Someone you can trust with your story.

Someone who tells you the truth—even when it’s uncomfortable—because they’re for you, not against you.

There’s no judgment with a true friend.

They don’t compete with you.

They don’t keep score.

They make you better simply by being present in your life.

True friends aren’t perfect—and they don’t expect you to be. They extend grace. They seek forgiveness. They choose relationship over being right.

Friendship is less about what you get—and more about who you are willing to be.

So here’s today’s question:

Which friend in your life needs the gift of a true friend from you today?

A call.

A text.

An apology.

Your presence.

Today’s focus isn’t just on having better friends—it’s on being one.

Declare it with intention:  I AM A FRIEND.

And then live it.

Freshen Up Your Thanks

By now, you should have a pretty long list of things you’re grateful for. Today’s challenge is to freshen up your thanks.

The best way to continually reap the benefits of gratitude is to identify new things you are grateful for.

You might always be grateful for your family; however, repeating the same things week after week doesn’t keep your brain on alert for fresh, new things to be grateful for.

Try getting as specific as possible when you describe what you are grateful for. Instead of simply writing, “I am grateful for my family,” write why you are grateful.

Some examples, “I am grateful that my partner prepared us a meal tonight,” or “I am grateful for my coworker for making me laugh.”

Part of embracing an attitude of gratitude means taking the time to find the little details that make up the beauty within your life.
