Day 21 - I AM Patient

"Be patient! Sometimes you have to go through the worst to get to the best."

Choose Patience

Patience has always been a virtue—

but in today’s world, it feels harder than ever to practice.

We live in a culture of immediacy.

Fast answers.

Instant opinions.

Quick reactions.

And as a result, people are quicker to be offended, quicker to get angry, and slower to listen.

Here’s a challenging truth:

Impatience often shows up when things aren’t happening the way we want—or on our timeline.

We want results now.

We want agreement now.

We want change now.

We’ve become a microwave culture in a slow-cooker world.

And when we encounter people who think differently, believe differently, or move at a different pace, our patience is often the first thing to disappear.

So today, pause and ask yourself:

  • Where do I struggle most with patience?

  • What is being triggered in me when I feel rushed or irritated?

  • Am I more focused on being heard—or on understanding?

Patience doesn’t mean passivity.

It means choosing restraint, wisdom, and grace in the moment.

And yes—if you declare patience today, expect it to be tested.

That’s how growth works.

Today’s declaration is intentional:

I AM PATIENT.

In today’s challenge video, we’ll walk through simple, practical steps you can use immediately to strengthen patience in everyday life.

Choose patience today.

It may change more than you realize.

GRATITUDE CHECK — Get the Kids Involved

One of the most powerful ways to deepen gratitude is to share it—especially with children.

Kids have a fresh, unfiltered perspective on the world. When they practice gratitude, it often comes naturally—and when we invite them into the process, it strengthens our own gratitude as well.

Here are a few simple, meaningful ways to get kids involved:

Create a Gratitude Jar

Help your child create a gratitude jar and provide small pieces of paper. Each day, invite them to write—or draw—something they’re grateful for. At the end of the week, sit down together and read through what they’ve added. You may be surprised by what they notice.

Write Thank-You Notes

Encourage kids to write short thank-you notes to people in the community—teachers, school staff, bus drivers, coaches, first responders, or neighbors. This helps them see the impact of others and learn the joy of appreciation.

Learn Something New Together

Explore a new subject as a family and talk about how it connects to the world around you. Visit a museum or zoo, watch a science-based documentary, or simply take a nature walk and ask questions. Wonder has a way of leading naturally to gratitude.

When gratitude is shared, it multiplies.

The more we practice it together, the deeper it becomes—not just as a habit, but as a way of life.
