"Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." - Melody Beattie
Choose Gratitude
By now, you’ve likely begun to experience the quiet power of a grateful heart.
It’s difficult to stay negative or discouraged when your attention is intentionally focused on gratitude. What we focus on shapes our attitude—and our attitude shapes our energy.
One of the greatest shifts in this journey is learning to appreciate the small things. Those ordinary moments we often overlook carry more influence than we realize.
A hand held.
A child’s hug.
A warm cup of coffee.
A sunset that stops you for a moment.
These are not insignificant.
They are anchors.
When we slow down enough to notice them, gratitude becomes a stabilizing force that lifts our perspective and renews our spirit.
So today, pause and reflect:
-
What are the small things in my life that I often take for granted?
-
Where can I choose appreciation instead of distraction?
-
How would my attitude change if I noticed more than I rushed?
Gratitude doesn’t require more—it requires attention.
Today, choose to notice.
Choose to appreciate.
Choose gratitude—and let it shape how you show up.
Value Connection
Today, take a moment to reflect on the community around you.
Community is more than proximity—it’s the people and places that remind you that you don’t walk through life alone. Whether it’s neighbors, coworkers, local groups, or organizations, these connections shape your sense of belonging and support in ways that often go unnoticed.
Pause and consider how your community contributes to your life.
You might write something like:
-
I am grateful for colleagues who bring encouragement, collaboration, and purpose into my work.
-
I am grateful for neighbors who create a sense of safety, familiarity, and care.
-
I am grateful for local organizations and groups that serve, support, and strengthen our community.
Communities are not just part of our environment—they are part of our well-being.
When we acknowledge the value of connection, gratitude deepens and isolation loses its grip.
Action Step:
Take 30 seconds and text, email, or write a note to one person you are grateful for today.
Encourage them.
Bless them.
Thank them for the role they play in your life.
